  • Manheim Township High School has been named, for the second consecutive year, one of the Top 505 High Schools in the United States by U.S. World and News Report
  • MTHS earned 4th place recognition at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair in Reno, Nevada
  • All MTSD Schools made AYP for the 2008-2009 school year
  • Manheim Township High School’s STEM lab (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) is the first of its kind in Pennsylvania.    Pennsylvania Department of Education encourages other districts to look at MTSD as a model program
  • Nitrauer Elementary and Reidenbaugh Elementary Knowledge Master Open Team took first and second place in Pennsylvania, respectively, and placed 21st and 24th out of 302 teams nationally
  • Members of the HS students newspaper, Hi-Lite, were winners in the state's Scholastic Keystone Press Awards. The students were honored at a luncheon sponsored by the Pennsylvania Newspaper Foundation.
  • Two high school teachers won state teaching awards. A social studies teacher was named the 2009 First Year Teacher of the Year award from Susquehanna Valley Council for the Social Studies and a high school English teacher was one of twelve Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year 2010 finalist.
  • Lancaster-Lebanon league championships and district excellence in various athletic sports across the district
  • State Championship performances in girls' cross country and tennis
  • Many high school athletes have earned All-America or All-State honors over the last few years
  • Thousands of monetary donations and community service hours have been performed by MTSD student and staff volunteers
  • Manheim Township High School’s athletic turf field complex earned recognition of Distinguished Fields of the Year, awarded by the American Sports Builders Association. It was one of 12 fields chosen nationally
  • Middle school students achieved excellence at the National Technology Student Association Conference in 2008
  • For the last two years, students from MTHS have won 1st place in the PA State Technology Fair for their video features
  • MTSD ranked #1 in Lancaster County for an increase in enrollments during 2008-2009 year. Manheim Township is one of the fastest-growing districts in Lancaster over the past ten years
  • Manheim Township Middle School’s MATHCOUNTS team placed first out of 38 teams in the Lincoln Chapter of the Professional Society of Engineers regional competition. Students from Lancaster, York and Adams counties participated
  • Manheim Township High School is the most energy-efficient school in Lancaster County with its geothermal/radiant heating and cooling system, energy-efficient windows and a rooftop solar water heater
  • Schaeffer Elementary School was named one of Pennsylvania Environment and Ecology Exemplary School District by the Pennsylvania Department of Education, the Department of Environmental Protection and the Pennsylvania Council of Environmental Education
  • The MTHS Marching Band was named the Yankee Open Division Champions (1st place) in the Cavalcade of Bands 2007 season; in 2008, the MTSD Marching Band was the Bronze Medal Finalist (3rd Place) in the Yankee Open Division of Cavalcade of Bands
  • The MTHS Symphonic Band was awarded the Silver Award (2nd Place) at the Heritage Music Festivals adjudication in Boston, MA in 2008
